SOARE ÎN INIMĂ….I need something “human scale” after this election

Here’s another short film from Mathieu Le Lay called Soare In Inima. After the election, I need something that’s close to spiritual.

I don’t know how to type accents….obviously.

I need something that’s human scale.

Everything in the media seems even more hyped than it usually does.

But, why wouldn’t it be hyped? It’s all about the “media”, after all.

What aren’t we fed that influences us?

Or, maybe, tries to influence us?

Who do we trust?

I think….and I do, think, that is….sometimes….that what it really comes down to is that we trust our families (and even that can be kind of tenuous)….and expect the best from them.

All the rest holds the potential for betrayal.

A benevolent expectation is not something that we owe these self-serving politicians.

We trust and love the people and things close to us.

We protect the people close to us.

Maybe that’s the best place to start? We try to protect the people and things that we love.

It hasn’t rained here in a long time, and when I woke up this morning, I could hear the rain on our roof.

I remember that the rain is a good thing, but a dry spell does make it easy in a lot of ways.

When you are delivering paper products like letters and packages, it’s a lot easier when the weather is dry.

When it’s been dry for a long time, though, the moisture is a good thing.

I don’t know what rain after a long dry spell means in relation to the election results.

Maybe I was thinking that it was something different than what we’ve known for a while.

Good or bad….it’s something different.

I wrote about the Amish a couple of posts back….and the apolitical way they live their lives. Somehow, it’s a responsibility to care about this whole political process. And…it is pretty darn important to care about it all. We have to care. There’s a lot riding on all of the results.

The reaction to our Presidential race shows that. It was an upset. It was not expected.

It’s a jarring change.

But, like the Amish, I’d like to back up from it and remember the thing that has to be most important in my own life.

I need to remember that what surrounds me is a lot more important than what some power hungry people in Washington are up to.

Take care of your families.

Hold tight to the people you love and let them know that you care about them.

All of the things that happen in the world have no greater importance than this: love the people in your life and take care of them.

Render unto Caesar…..
